I'm not entirely sure how or why it works, but it seems to make my prescription desiccated thyroid hormone work a great deal more effectively. Prior to getting my prescription, I used the coleus & bladderwrack alone, plus it did help though I clearly needed actual treatment. Note that I am using these herbs under the guidance of my doctor -- if you are being treated for hypothyroidism with any sort of prescription I wouldn't recommend trying coleus without consulting your doctor first.As the previous commenter noted, the taste is unbearable. It is skunk butt nasty 4 realz! I dissolve my drops in about 10-12 ounces of apple juice or other non-citrus juice... citrus juices tend not to be sweet enough to mask the flavor.
